Wave Chamber Collective is a San Francisco-based string quartet collective on a mission to make San Francisco a great city for artists and creators. We believe one of the ways classical music thrives is when it moves out of traditional concert halls and into the places people already gather, so we bring immersive, interactive chamber music performances to accessible, new venues across the city, blurring the line between artist and audience.

At our core, we exist to connect music lovers directly with musicians and to build communities of mutual support around live art-making. We invite audiences to engage with the string quartet tradition in novel ways, while collaborating with artists, thinkers, storytellers, and scientists to respond to the challenges and opportunities of our time through music.

Equity for artists drives everything we do. Founded by a former full-time musician, Wave Chamber Collective is not a profit-making enterprise; it is dedicated to paying musicians a fair wage and giving them real creative and artistic direction over their work. We also work to make visible the significant, often unrecognized labor behind every performance, so our community can more fully understand and support the artists who sustain it.

Ultimately, we are working to create a lasting cultural resource for San Francisco: a network of musicians, audiences, and collaborators invested in collective, in-person artistic experience, and in gathering the sustained support needed for that art-making to thrive for years to come.
