want an evening of chamber music and surprises?
poetry predicated by your presence?
and an experience you'll not soon forget?

then don’t miss being in the audience for our show: cathedrals of light! in which we're all reminded we were once stars.

if you haven't seen this collaboration before, expect an absolutely original evening. silvi’s built a collaborative language with the string quartet using typewritten improvisation, audience participation, physical objects, and the electric medium of presence. the typewriter is another instrument, poetry another line of music.

this month’s chamber performers are violinists maya cohen and pauline kampf, cellist evan kahn, and violist joy fellows. their professional accolades include performing with SF Symphony, SF Opera,  New Century Chamber Orchestra, SF Ballet, OneFoundSound, and recording with Sting.

local poet Silvi has written 100k poems on-the-spot for strangers and clients like Google, Facebook, SFMOMA, and high fashion brands that made her sign NDA's.

what is wave chamber collective?

Knocking chamber music tradition off its pedestal by introducing risks, questions, instability, crowds, the unknown - healthy chaotic good. Founded by musicians, in collaboration with a community of artists, for audiences of everyone.

who is poet silvi alcivar?
@thepoetrystore

silvi's work lives in the moment two strangers meet over her red royal typewriter--the anonymity an invitation to speak, the typewriter keys a willing listener. the poetry is almost incidental. the real work is offering what we all want at the core of our humanness—to feel witnessed and connected, present and seen, spontaneous and at play. while best known as an event poet, she's currently collaborating with musicians, fire practitioners, classrooms, conferences, and more.
